This grade 3/4 lesson was developed in order to allow students to begin thinking about and deciphering the difference between facts and opinions. Students are provided a variety of statements and must sort them into the appropriate categories. The lesson was implemented in a unit study on First Nations Peoples.

This toolkit was developed as part of a team. It contains an arts-based lesson plan, 6 online resources, 2 books, and suggestions for further additions to the topic. The arts-based lesson plan allows students to engage in photographs or paintings from the time period at hand, and create dialogues to supplement the images.

This lesson introduces kindergarten students to Remembrance Day and the history behind it. Students read A Poppy is to Remember by Heather Patterson and Ron Lightburn. This lesson also has a cross curricular connection to mathematics as the students create poppies using shapes.
